As with all things Apple, throughout the year rumours and speculations surface regarding what the next device would look like. It does not matter, then if the current version has just released or not even released, yet in a particular country. The rumour mills continue to churn out information about what's likely to follow.
Talks about the design of the next iPhone and iPad have been going on for a while and many analysts had predicted, back then that the present iPhone would feature an all new design. However, when the iPhone 4S was launched, the design stayed the same. It was reported earlier that plans to redesign the iPhone were shelved just months before the iPhone 4S was launched. According to a report by iLounge, reliable sources have informed them that not only the iPhone would look different, but also the iPad as well as the MacBook Pro.
Can we expect a complete design overhaul next year?

Can we expect a complete design overhaul next year?

Starting off with the iPad, the website states that the next version could be announced, as early as January 2012 and will be 0.7mm thicker than the iPad 2. The increase in thickness is due to the brand wanting to accommodate a twin light bar system that is required for a higher resolution display. The iPad 3 may be available for purchase by March 2012. Next up, the same sources claim that the next iPhone presumably the iPhone 5 will feature a tear drop design and will have a 4-inch display and will be 8mm longer than the present iPhone. It is said that it would have a metal casing; this design was expected on the present iPhone, leading us to believe that there was some weight behind all the rumours that was floating around before the launch of the iPhone 4S. Apparently the upcoming iPhone is being built with LTE battery drain in mind and is still in its engineering phase. The release date for the iPhone 5 is expected to be somewhere around mid next year.

Lastly, speaking about the 2012 MacBook Pro line, sources have not revealed much, but claim that one should ‘think thinner.’  Let us know your thoughts on the redesign rumours of the upcoming Apple products in the comments section below.

Early Details On 2012’s Redesigned iPad, iPhone + MacBook Pro

Our most reliable source has spoken: expect body changes for the next iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro. Here’s what we’ve heard.

(1) The third-generation iPad will become modestly thicker (0.7mm) in order to accommodate the twin light bar system needed for its higher-resolution display. It’s currently on track for a March timeframe release, and according to our source could be publicly shown as early as January, depending on conditions.

(2) Our source says that the next-generation iPhone will not look like the teardrop-shaped version that was widely rumored for release in 2011. We’ve been told that the device will have a 4-inch display and will be 8mm longer than before, with a metal casing (probably aluminum). It is on track to be introduced in summer of 2012, and is still in the engineering phase, not early production. We suspect that poor battery life doomed the prior prototype version, and that this one is being built with LTE-ready battery drain in mind.

(3) Barring some huge and unexpected issue, 2012 will be the year when the MacBook Pro line gets its new design. Think thinner.

Apple's new rumour: an iPad Mini

The latest rumour going around is that Apple is planning on releasing a smaller version of its iPad, and they're going to call it the iPad Mini. According to Mashable, the Cupertino-based company is facing some stiff competition from the Amazon Kindle Fire and is responding with a junior version of its tablet. The screen size of this rumoured device will be 7.85 inches, which is about 2 inches smaller than the current iPad's 10-inch screen. LG is rumoured to be in talks with Apple about manufacturing these smaller screens. The screen resolution will stay at its current 1024x768 pixels, so apps will not need modification to function on the smaller screen. The device is rumoured to be launched, late next year.
Smaller is bigger?
Smaller is bigger?

This mini version of the iPad goes against what Steve Jobs wanted. Jobs believed that the ideal size for a tablet is 10 inches and that there are 'clear limits on how close you can place things on a touchscreen'. Other rumours on the next iPad are that the device is going to be thicker than the iPad 2. This rumour says that the next iPad will be out in early 2012, though, which means it may not be the same device as the iPad Mini. The other Apple device rumoured to go mini was the iPhone, but for now, those rumours have been put to rest. The iPhone mini was supposed to battle head on with lower-end Android devices.

iPhone 5 design rumours, likely to release in fall 2012

The dust on the latest iPhone 4S has barely settled and Apple is armed with a generation leap for its devices. While iPad 3 is rumored to release on Steve Job’s birthday in February, the highly anticipated (or over-hyped) iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple plans to name it) is also in the making and will be launched later next year. BGR reports that the next generation Apple iPhone will be released in fall 2012.

iPhone 5 coming in fall next year?

The next generation iPhone 5 is expected to get a major design makeover with a 4-inch display screen and aluminium body. Although there is no mention of the tapered design, as hinted by Case-Mate, the company will be using rubber or plastic material used in its bumper cases. The bezel of the device surrounding the front edge will be crafted using this material. This is said to pave the way in joining the glass iPhone face with aluminium back plate alongside cover the redesigned antenna system to build the rear of the device. This will also enable Apple to build the rear case using aluminium and negate the use of large plastic insert above the antennas, as seen in the iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.

It is believed that Steve Jobs spent a lot of time over the iPhone 5, which was suppose to make its debut this year when everyone was surprised with the launch of the iPhone 4S, this fall.
